It’s no secret that my wardrobe is made up of mostly neutrals as this makes the process of getting dressed so much faster. I love being able to mix and match all the pieces that I own, but there are a few color combinations that I almost always fall back on. It’s natural to want to play with all the trending colors of the moment especially during the summer, but I find that going neutral is often the most wearable and practical route to take. Below, I’m sharing the color combinations for summer that you can keep on rotation.
Olive & Black
Olive is a great color for neutral lovers like me because it’s earthy looking and sits well with true neutrals (like black and white) – yet it adds a pop of color in the most subtle way. Olive feels very military-esque in nature, so when paired with darker tones, it comes off super cool and edgy.
Beige & White
One of the best color combinations for summer has to be beige and white – and it’s the one that I wear most! I just love how fresh and polished it comes off even with the most casual pieces. It’s a color palette that’s easy on the eyes and is so comforting to look at. Plus, you can add an extra layer of dimension with black accessories!
Brown & Camel
Fashion girls aren’t often seen wearing brown, but I’ve always been obsessed with how sophisticated it looks. It’s the perfect alternative to black and really warms up the skin. I love playing with brown monochromatic outfits and often add pops of white or camel. The exact skirt I’m wearing above is on major sale right now (here) and will be kept on heavy rotation this fall!
Yellow & Black
When I want to get more playful with my outfits, I’ll usually pick a trending color of the season and pair it with black. This summer is all about pale yellow for me. I’m usually not one for pastels but this lighter citrus tone was too pretty to ignore. I love how elegant and grown up it feels – just perfect for easy silhouettes like slip dresses and button down blouses.
