The passing of Memorial Day weekend is a sign that summer is near, which is exciting for me because I’ve been waiting anxiously to fully transition my wardrobe into summer. Although I tend to stick to the classics like a button down top and clean denim, I have been keeping a close eye out for the best upcoming trends. One place I have been shopping at more this year is Walmart because they’ve really stepped up their fashion game. I love mixing Walmart’s affordable basics with higher-end pieces, which I can always grab from the Lord & Taylor shop.

Casual & Monochrome

I naturally gravitate towards monochrome looks regardless of what season it is. The colors I’m often drawn to are black, white, and nudes. This season, I’ll be layering shades of white and off-white, but I’m also loving casual, edgy looks that consist of lots of black. One of my go-to outfit formulas that’s super easy to create and make me feel my best contain staple pieces like black jeans, a graphic tee, and a moto jacket. I love that these pieces remain in style year over year – and that I can continue to re-wear them. I’ve been obsessed with the Karl Lagerfeld tees from Walmart. They’re so cheeky and fun for summer.

With the return of the hot weather, comes the return of easy one-piece ensembles that make getting ready so seamless. I am all about chic one pieces, whether that be in the form of maxi dresses, jumpsuits, or rompers. Walmart offers a diverse range of formal style dresses and casual, everyday options. Pair this look with woven accessories and summer slides for an effortlessly chic vibe.

Statement Blouse + Jewelry

Summer is the best time to experiment with fun tops, such as off-the-shoulder blouses, ruffles, and bold prints. Every summer, I add a few options to my wardrobe, which are great for looking on-trend when I need to run out the door in a pinch. Although I am not one to sport bold colored outfits on a daily basis, I’ll sometimes sprinkle in statement pieces to add color into an earthy palette. You can have a lot of fun with oversized earrings and bold necklaces.
