Feeling Edgy in All Black

I love doing an all-black look in the winter. There’s just something a little more edgy about it and it makes me feel sexy. I thought this was the perfect vibe for a recent date night, so I reached for this new Express x Olivia Culpo Capsule Collection black dress.

Have you heard about Olivia Culpo’s new collection with Express? It is stunning! I’ve always been a big Express fan and knew I’d love everything in the new collection. There are fun colors, flattering silhouettes and lots of pieces to love. Speaking of flattering silhouettes, let’s get back to the dress.

Because I wanted to put together an all-black look, I started with this amazing dress and built the rest of the outfit around it. Like I mentioned, the Express x Olivia Culpo dress is very flattering, but I knew I wanted to layer it up a bit. Tights and boots were a given because of the chillier temps (perfect for you girls with snowy winters). You can go for a boot with a lower heel, I just prefer the height.

 

To add that edgy feel, I had to add a leather moto jacket. This is what stepped the look up a notch. I definitely recommend investing in a high-quality moto jacket if you don’t already have one. They are so versatile and will always be in style.

I wanted to incorporate a few subtle gold details, so I added the belt, which also cinches the waist and breaks up all the black without being too distracting. Throw on a simple black crossbody and you’re ready to head out the door!
