A Moody Transition to Spring

It’s that time of year again where we’re almost to spring and everyone is itching to start transitioning their wardrobe. I wanted to put together a post on how I’m approaching the transition this year with some of my favorite pieces from Nordstrom. I always head to Nordstrom this time of year to shop their new spring inventory. So many fun basics and trendy pieces alike.

This year, I was instantly inspired to go for a darker, slightly moodier color palette when I saw this Fendi bag. I love the classic black and dark green color combo so I ran with it. It is absolutely stunning and really served as the inspiration for this entire look, which turned out exactly how I was envisioning. Here are all the details.

First and foremost, the bag. I love using a larger bag or tote for a spring transition look. It makes it easy to carry around any layers you take off throughout the day. The Fendi bag is perfect for this. Plus, it really dresses up such a casual look.

Next, I focused on building my layers. Layers are key to any transitional look. I started with a basic white tee and added this athleisure-style black hoodie. I’m loving this sweatshirt by the way – it’s so versatile and can be dressed up or down. Paired with these leather leggings and my favorite pointed toe black booties, I think the look has a perfect balance. It’s not too casual or dressy and not to mention, very comfortable.

To finish it off, I added my final layer – this green trench coat. You could easily wear the classic khaki color trench, but I loved the green to compliment the Fendi bag and the studded detailing. A good trench is a must when building your transitional wardrobe, so if you don’t already have one in your closet, I highly recommend this green option.

If you’re shopping for spring, make sure to check out Nordstrom’s selection right now. You’ll definitely find everything you need for spring, including amazing statement bags like my Fendi.
