My collection of designer bags certainly did not appear overnight. In fact, it’s something that took a few years to build up. Before I acquired my first designer piece, I was always drawn to handbags and accessories. I found it so intriguing that a simple piece can transform your outfit, which is why I eventually took the plunge and invested in bags. I definitely consider myself lucky enough to have acquired some beautiful, luxurious pieces that make great additions to my wardrobe. As I mentioned on the blog before, I am inclined to designer bags because I know my money is being spent on a piece that is carefully crafted and made to last. If you’re ready to build your designer bag collection, I’ll be offering some tips on how you can do it without regret.

Begin with the Classics

My advice to all those who are just starting to acquire designer bags is to pay attention to the kind of bags you already use on a regular basis. Oftentimes, classic pieces like a tote, satchel, or a chain bag is best because they’re chic yet practical. A timeless, functional design ensures you will be able to wear it for years down the line. Sticking to neutral tones is also ideal so you can seamlessly incorporate it into every outfit.

Once you have established the designer piece you want to invest in, it is time for the fun part – actually buying it! When I know the next designer piece I want to add to my collection, I like to browse the listings on eBay to see if I can get a great price on a pre-owned style. Given the fact that these are investment items, the price points are inevitably higher, but this also means the goods are made extremely well. Chances are, you can find a consigned version in really good condition on eBay for a fraction of the regular price. I have no qualms about buying used bags especially if I know they’re real.
