My Must-Have Jackets for Spring

I’ve always felt that it’s important to have lots of options for layering especially in the spring when the weather allows for more creative layers. Whether you’re into dressier ensembles or casual street looks, adding a couple of quality jackets to your wardrobe will give you a ton of flexibility in terms of style! With plenty of chilly mornings and cold nights ahead, I wanted to share some of my favorite outerwear pieces to wear in warmer weather for a variety of looks.

Trench Coat

If you follow me on Instagram, then it’s probably no surprise that the first must-have spring jacket I have to mention is a basic camel trench. They are the perfect inter-seasonal piece that you can use layer on those brisker spring days! Camel is one of my favorite tones because it goes with so many other colors! The silhouette of a trench coat is timelessly sophisticated and chic, and instantly elevates the rest of the look. If not camel, then I’ve been obsessed with olive tones this season (love this one, which I’ve worn on Instagram!).

Utility Jacket

Utility jackets are a great casual piece for spring. With plenty of pockets, hardware, and belts, this season’s styles add a really nice aesthetic touch to denim. I love wearing mine with denim and heels for a deconstructed yet sophisticated vibe. This jacket will often make a statement on its own so there’s no need to over-accessorize.

Denim Jacket

Even though denim jackets can seem like such a basic piece, they actually come in so many varieties and styles. Try a cropped jacket with high waisted skinny pants, or an oversized vintage one with a mini dress. The great thing about denim jackets is that they can be layered to look even more chic. Throw a plaid blazer over it – or a even an oversized trench coat. They’re always versatile!

Leather Jacket

Leather is another material that I love for any season. A cropped leather jacket is an edgy look for spring that can be made to look totally feminine and glamorous with the right shoes and accessories. For spring in particular, I enjoy soft colors in leather, like tan, green, brown, and maroon.

Blazer

Another classically sophisticated look in addition to the trench is a blazer. I love this look for spring, especially if you want to look sharp for a business meeting or lunch. Try lighter neutral tones for that fresh, crisp look – or or a navy jacket with white jeans.
