The Fall 2020 Trends You Should Know About

I’ve always loved fall and the style trends that come with it. I find the sweaters, coats, shoes, and all the layers to be so comforting and cozy. As we’re slowly transitioning into fall, I wanted to share a few trends I’ve been eyeing just in time for you to revamp your wardrobe. My wardrobe is filled with more timeless and neutral pieces than anything, but I’ve been loving mixing and matching these trendier pieces. It still takes minimal effort to throw together, but these staple pieces really elevate any outfit when paired with my usual everyday style. Here are the Fall 2020 trends you should know about.

Animal print

My everyday style consists of lots of neutrals, but there’s something about animal print that always catches my eye. I love snakeskin, leopard, and croc-embossed pieces, so I’m excited to bring them out this season. I can already tell zebra print will be on heavy rotation for me this fall (like this coat). I’ve been pairing mine with these tall croc-embossed leather boots for the chicest and luxe fall look.

Knitwear

Who else loves sweater weather? Cozy knits are an easy staple piece to add to your fall wardrobe. It’s always on-trend during the colder months, and it’s one of my wardrobe must-haves this time of the year. I love pairing neutral chunky knit sweaters with coats and scarfs in similar colors to create an instantly elevated outfit. You can never go wrong with this outfit formula.

Coats

Coats are a fall must-have, and it’s a trend I love every year. Whether you like trench coats, camel coats, shawls, blazers, or capes, there are so many classic styles to choose from. It’s the perfect piece to layer over a sweater or turtleneck when the temperature drops. Pair it with booties to achieve a sophisticated and polished look.

Plaid

Plaid always reminds me of fall, and it’s a trend that’s come straight off the runway this year. I love how you can take this look two ways – preppy or edgy. Pair plaid trousers with lace-up boots and a moto jacket for an edgy look, or add a plaid scarf or coat to make any neutral outfit stand out. This trend is a great way to mix polish with some edge.

Metallic

Metallic is going to be big this fall! They’re the perfect way to illuminate your cozy knits and neutral pieces. I’ve been loving metallic shoes and accessories and understated pieces like this ribbed sweater. I’ve been going for warmer and deeper color metallics and layering them with other rich textures, like wool, suede, leather, and fur.
