The Only Designer Bags Worth Investing in Right Now

If I could only name one investment-worthy piece in my wardrobe, it would without a doubt be a designer handbag. A well-designed handbag can last forever – and even become a heirloom that gets passed down from one generation to the next. Some bags hold their value so well that you can sell it for more down the road. I purchase designer bags for their durability and unique design. I really love how they complete simple, everyday outfits. If you’re ready to make an investment, I’ll be sharing my top 10 designer handbag brands that are worth investing in.

1. Hermes

Hermès has quite the reputation in the designer handbag world. Bags like the Birkin and Kelly feel so exclusive because you can’t just walk into an Hermès store and pick one up. They also retain their value like no other. I appreciate the practical and timeless silhouettes of handbags from Hermès because they’re functional and can be carried daily whether you’re going to work or going out.

2. Louis Vuitton

Louis Vuitton is always a good investment – and I do love the iconic monogram design. You guys will typically see me carrying my Sac Plat; however, a quick Google search will tell you that the Neverfull totes are Louis Vuitton’s most successful bags. I prefer the structured look and size of the Sac Plat, but you can’t go wrong with either style.

3. Celine

Celine bags have been an industry favorite for decades now. One of the things I really appreciate about Celine is that there are no logos on its bags – and as a result, they always feel super fresh. My favorite Celine bags are the Luggage tote and Box bag.

4. Chanel

The “It” bag of the fashion community probably goes to the Chanel classic flap bag. Since 2010, it’s estimated that the bag has appreciated by 70%, which is pretty incredible to me. I love the uber sophisticated and feminine design, which dresses up any outfit.

5. Gucci

Gucci is definitely the cool-girl brand of the moment. From logo t-shirts to the ubiquitous double G belt, I really can’t get enough of Gucci. Although you can find an array of brightly colored bags, I’ll always fall back on a classic black leather style with a gold chain. I love that many of Gucci’s bags can be carried over the shoulder or as a crossbody – great for everyday!

6. Givenchy

Givenchy is one of the brands I love for that cool, edgy vibe. The Antigona is one of my most-prized bags given the useful size, beautiful structure, and durability. It fits all of my daily essentials and can be a great carry on when I’m traveling.

7. Dior

Dior has been in the spotlight quite a bit with its Saddle bag. Although I don’t think the Saddle bag is the most timeless offering from Dior, you can’t go wrong with a vintage tote (like the one I’m carrying above) or The Lady Dior.

8. Fendi

These last few seasons, I have really enjoyed Fendi’s release of cult status bags – each serving a different purpose. From the Kan mini bag to the latest Baguette, Fendi has really done a great job serving up unique silhouettes and designs. Its double F logo is also logomania-worthy!

9. Boyy

One of the newer handbag brands that’s really grown on me is Boyy. The bags are simple and streamlined, exuding an understated cool factor. Boyy bags are available in a tote format, bucket bag, and fanny packs, but I personally adore the top handle design, which makes an outfit look so luxe.

10. M2Malletier

M2Malletier is a Barcelona-based label that offers elegant, modern handbags that go seamlessly from day to night. Their signature design is rooted in architecture with its clean, gold hardware and minimalist shape. It’s so easy to see why fashion girls love this bag so much – myself included!
