How to Style Snakeskin for the Office

There are so many trends I’m excited about for spring and snakeskin is definitely one of them. I must admit that although animal prints look great with casual outfits, they can be intimidating to wear to work since they’re such a statement maker. However, snakeskin works for any occasion and they’re actually easier to style than you think. If you’re in need of just one trend to freshen up your work wear, snakeskin is definitely the one to try this season, and Ann Taylor’s new Snakeskin Print Collection is the best place to start. The collection consists of only 6 pieces and all of them can easily be styled in so many different ways. Below, I’ll be sharing my style tips for each item and how you can take them from desk to drinks!

Whenever I’m looking for versatile pieces that are both professional and on-trend, Ann Taylor is one of my first stops because of their flattering silhouettes and classic styles. I was so excited for their Snakeskin Print Collection because it offers a wearable and tasteful approach to the bold trend.

1. Snakeskin Tie Neck Blouse

The first piece from the collection that I wanted to highlight is Ann Taylor’s tie neck snakeskin blouse. I’m such a fan of the halter top silhouette because that makes it easy makes to wear with any bottom. In the look above, I paired it with Ann Taylor’s snakeskin pleated skirt from the same collection – and I love how the end result looks more like a dress. This top would also look polished with high-waisted trousers and a blazer. You can take it into the evening by tucking it into a pair of skinny jeans, then adding classic pumps and a leather jacket.

2. Snakeskin Pleated Skirt

I’m obsessed with the fluid, flowy nature of this skirt since it’s so lady-like. However, the length and a-line cut is what makes it so versatile. You can match it up with a crisp white button down or a fitted cardigan – both of which are great looks for spring. To take this piece into the weekend, simply go with a top that bears a little more skin such as a bodysuit or camisole.

3. Snakeskin Turtleneck

The snakeskin turtleneck is a great base piece that can stand alone or be layered under a light jacket. As it’s quite a statement piece, you can tuck it into wide leg pants for a more professional look or even layer it underneath a neutral cardigan. Transition it to happy hour by switching out trousers for a denim mini and a pair of sleek heels or over-the-knee boots.

4. Snakeskin Henley Blouse

Everything about this snakeskin henley blouse is great for the office from the silky fabric down to the higher neckline. A signature look that I love for office environments is blouses tucked into pants – and this top is perfect for exactly that. The looser silhouette can really balance out skinny chinos or a skimming pencil skirt. And the shirttail hem means you can throw it over leather leggings after work – or wear it half-tucked into jeans.

5. Snakeskin Wrap Dress

If you’re looking for an easy one-piece that you can throw on and go, the wrap dress is a foolproof piece. The long sleeves are perfect for early spring when it’s still cool out. And the wrap style is flattering on any figure. I find that styling snakeskin with neutral pieces such as black or nude really tempers the print and makes it more wearable. The last piece in the collection you need is the block heel sandals. The lower heel gives you all-day comfort – and they look great with skirts, dresses, and cropped pants. One of my favorite ways to wear these kind of statement shoes is with a monochromatic nude look since it really allows the print to pop. Take these sandals off duty with denim cutoffs or a simple knit dress.
